Masterpieces of the Riemenschneider-Era, Liebighaus-Skulpturensammlung, Frankfurt am Main

November 12, 2016 - February 12, 2017

The Museum für Franken will be the host of a small but exquisite, quite spectacular and high-quality exhibition starting mid-November: the internationally renowned Liebighaus in Frankfurt will loan some of its »Masterpieces of the Riemenschneider-Era«, including works by Hans Multscher, Michel Erhart, Daniel Mauch and Hans Leinberger, to name but a few of the famous sculpturers.

However, there will also pieces by anonymous masters of their craft whose work is in no way inferior to the others as a seated Madonna from the Upper Rhine in its original setting will show or the mural reliefs of the Schlüsselfelder Altar. The special exhibition will consist of twenty sculptures, offering a comparison between the works of Tilman Riemenschneider safeguarded at the Museum für Franken, and the works of his contemporaries.
